About Mary
Mary DeVore is co-owner of the Bishop Yoga and Massage Center. She is a certified massage therapist and yoga instructor.
Mary started practicing yoga as a child with her mother in the 1970's. This early base of awareness helped Mary in
her development as a practitioner, teacher, and therapist.
Over the years Mary has been exposed to many different styles of yoga.
The Iyengar method is the style that she embraces most.
This is due to the focus on alignment, holding of the poses, and specific
work with injuries. Having studied the Iyengar method with Senior Iyengar teacher, Kofi Busia,
Mary also took her teachers training with him in Santa Cruz, CA.
Most currently Mary traveled to India to study with the Iyengars at their Institute,
and has been receiving ongoing mentorship from Cathy Rogers, a Senior Iyengar Teacher in San Diego.
Mary was trained in various styles of massage ranging from Acupressure, Deeptissue/Triggerpoint,
Essential Oils, Reflexology, Reiki, Shiatsu, Sports, Swedish, and Thai. Taking most of her training
from Twin Lakes College of the Healing Arts in Santa Cruz, CA, Mary also studied at Esalen and in
Thailand. In the past 12 years Mary has developed a private practice and has also spent many
years teaching massage classes and workshops.
Teaching and practicing both yoga and massage has given Mary a very in depth understanding of how
to work with peoples' needs in a massage or yoga session. Each plays on the other for offering
insight and understanding. Mary uses a client-centered approach to tailor a private session or
class to meet the needs of the clients.

About Janet
Janet Karecki is an avid student of movement and believer in the power and resiliency of the human system.
She teaches Transformational Movement Lessons, Yoga, and West African Dance. Janet also offers private sessions
in The Anat Baniel Method based on the work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. After developing chronic pain due to an
accumulation of traumas which include bicycle vs. bus collisions, soccer injuries, surgery, poor postural habits
and poor work habits, she became interested in the work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais through books. The movement
lessons contained in these books gave her the first experience of being pain free after years of pain and compromised
functioning. To learn more about the cutting edge, scientific work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, she sought out his premier
student and colleague, Anat Baniel and enrolled in her two year professional training program. What attracts Janet most
to The Anat Baniel Method is its effectiveness and its emphasis on using the brain and movement with attention to empower
each person to heal themselves.
