If you have a major emergency and have to cancel, you must cancel by calling the day before the workshop starts then a credit can be given to you for future classes or workshops. Shoulder & Neck Care Class w/ Mary DeVore Date: Feb 1,8,22,29 Wednesdays 4-5pm This class is appropriate for those with common problems in the above areas. These short courses help the students manage pain and/or resolve issues in these specific areas. Everyone is welcome. Price: $50 Preregistration required Monthly Yoga Workshop w/ Mary DeVore Date: Feb 5 Sunday 4-6pm This workshop is appropriate for the seasoned practitioner wanting a deeper practice. This is a two hour workshop with emphasis on a certain set of asanas. February is Seated Poses. This is followed by a free philosophy class on the Bhagavadgita from 6-7pm. Price: $20 Preregistration or $25 drop in Crystal Bowl Meditation Session w/ Skandar Date: Feb 16th Thursday 7-8pm The Crystal Bowl Meditation session is a unique blend of vibrational healing sounds/frequencies from crystal and metal bowls, gongs, chimes and tuning forks. This 1 hr. session is an amazing sonic bath. Vibrational medicine is based on the idea that all illness or disease is characterised by blockage in the channels on some level, either in nadis, arteries, veins, nerves. When there is a blockage, the organ in question stops vibrating at a healthy frequency and thus it results in some kind of illness. Through sound and light one can break up, dissolve and release these blockages that initiate in our etheric body. Please wear relaxed clothes. Price: $50 Preregistration required Weekend Yoga Workshop with Senior Iyengar Teacher, Kofi Busia Date: June 8-10 Fri 6-8pm; Sat 9am-12pm and 3-5pm; Sun 9am-12pm Kofi Busia, is one of the world's foremost teachers in the Iyengar tradition. A Senior Iyengar teacher, he has been teaching yoga for over 35 years. He started practicing yoga at Oxford University and in the 70's and 80's he studied directly with BKS Iyengar. Kofi currently lives and teaches yoga in Santa Cruz, CA. We are very fortunate to have him come to Bishop. As we explore the asanas, Kofi will share stories, philosophy and insight into the deeper levels of yoga and life. Check out kofibusia.com for more about Kofi.
